Appalachian Service Project

Baylake United Methodist Church

The Appalachia Service Project (ASP) provides an opportunity to participate in a hands on ministry by providing home repairs and ministry to those living in this poverty stricken geographic region of the Appalachian Mountain Region. The mission teams do a variety of home repairs that make homes warmer and dryer including roof repairs, insulation installations, fix floors and shore up foundations and much, much more.

The families receiving the home repairs are shown God’s love and given hope, while the team providing the repairs are also transformed through these acts of service. Teams are comprised of both youth and adults creating a unique experience for the team. Those called to serve in this ministry develop an appreciation for what they have while growing closer to the group and God.

Baylake UMC supports a team for this mission project annually. It is through generous contributions that this mission opportunity is made possible for the teams. We would love to have you join the ASP team or support one. Contact Chris Safrit at csafrit@cox.net to join a team!
